About me:
When I was born I was hard-fought for. My father and his mother wanted me to stay with them. They lived in Ponta Gatu (part of the village of Tarrafal). But also my mother and her mother wanted me to stay in their house. They lived in Kobon Santxa.
They did not live together. In the end I ended up at my mother because she was still breastfeeding me. Until I was 6 months old. Then the fight started anew.
When I was 6 months old my mother went back to work and she left me at my grandmother’s house. Every day.
One day there was a party somewhere and my grandmother took me there. I guess she had a few grog. I was tied to here back. Then the mother of my father came along and fooled her. She said she wants to give me some food. But instead she took me to her house. When my mother came back home from work she looked for me and found me there. But my father and his mother did not want to let me go … like this I stayed at the house of my fathers mother until she died. After that I went back to my mothers house. I was nineteen years old.
I have three brothers and three sisters.
When I was a kid I liked to go to school. My father gave me everything I needed to study. At that time when somebody asked me what I want to become later on I always said I want to work in an airplane. But I just said so because I have heard somebody say that it would be very nice to travel so many countries.
Some when between the age of twelve and sixteen I started to understand that work in an aeroplane would not be for me and that I do not have to travel to become a man. I stopped to listen to the things the others always said. I started to have my own dream. To become a professional football player and to study something that will allow me to work with children. Today it makes 4 years since I finished highschool and I still have that same dream. I try to realise it with the help of Delta Cultura and I will succeed. Delta Cultura already helped me to go to Austria in June 2008 to participate in some probationaltrainings. I had success, went back to Cape Verde to arrange everything to go back to Austria to play there but in the end I couldn’t because I wasn’t able to get a visa.
But it was instructional experience.
In February 2009 I went to Switzerland, but this trip did not go well because of some circumstances like climate and the way of living of the people there.

About Delta Cultura: I am one of these people who work with Delta Cultura because I like their work. Since my adolescent I have the wish to work with children and young people.
When I started at Delta Cultura I was just a football player. Then Delta Cultura started to built the Center and I helped out.
Later on I became football trainer at the Football School and like this I am at Delta Cultura and work in the social and sportive area which is very important here. I will always work for Delta Cultura, also when I am far away and I hope I will be able to study, to learn English so I can take over the Center one day when Florian is tired of it.
