Tarrafal
Delta Cultura Cabo Verde built the Education Centre in 2005.
Since then, we have been running a wide variety of educational offerings. A vibrant development that will not be complete until Delta Cultura’s vision – the elimination of poverty through education – is implemented. We’re all working on that!
Origin
- The Centre opened on October 8, 2005, after a construction period of 9 months.
- From October 2005 to March 2007, training courses for carpenters and seamstresses, computer science and language courses as well as football training were running.
- Since 2007, the children and young people from the football school have been the main target group. Football is used for social development.
- In 2013, the Education Centre was expanded to include the Tarrafal Football for Hope Centre, financed by FIFA. In addition to the existing 7 buildings, a 40×20 artificial turf pitch and another building with an IT room/library and multi-purpose room were built.
